Today I had planned to send home several FT's, as their 2 wks has been done Friday, however, this morning, I was really busy trying to save that little bat! He was so dehydrated & took a turn for the worse!!

My efforts were fruitless though, as he passed away!! I was so sad!

In the midst of that, I got a call to pick up 5 baby bunnies that someone dropped off at an animal hospital sometime over the weekend. . . We drove 2 hrs to get the baby bunnies - AND 2 hours home. . . I am hoping for the best with them!!

I ended up with a migraine:( It was unbearable hot & not such a great day for a 4hr drive :P"

This evening, we went outside & took a few more photos around the yard. We went out to watch the bats flying for bugs.

Today is mom's birthday.

We went to grandma & grandpa's.

We had a cookout there & the kids played in the pool. It was a pretty warm day.

Grandma & grandpa surprised mom with a seahorse balloon & beautiful roses! They also got an ice cream cake. Mom was so surprised! T

The dinner & the ice cream cake dessert was yummy!

After leaving grandparents house, we went to the Walmart & got a couple things.

Then we drove around a little bit.

We were just getting ready to head home when someone called about a bat.We picked up the bat & brought him home.

Turns out he is a baby Big Brown bat.No one but mom gets to care for the bat. In NY, bats are a rabies vector & have to be cared for carefully. Mom is rabies vaccinated & attended a NY Rabies certification class.
